VIRTUAL HOUSE CALLS

Primary Care At Virtual House Calls, we view you as a person, not as a disease. We provide convenient health care with a focus on disease prevention, health optimization, and general wellness. For true healing, treatment involves fixing the cause of the condition, not just alleviating the symptoms. We work with you to identify the underlying, root cause of chronic diseases. Then, a holistic approach of treatment is pursued that focuses on treating the root cause of disease, while enabling patients to make lifestyle changes that will bring the body back into balance and wellbeing.
Hormone Optimization Many patients have bothersome symptoms such as: depression, insomnia, low libido, cold intolerance, poor skin/hair/nail quality, foggy thinking, and many more. Some patients also unknowingly have hormone imbalances. Over 20 million people in the United States have a form of hypothyroidism. Did you know that it is estimated that 60% of those people are unaware that they even have it? Instead, they attribute their symptoms to getting older, or their primary care provider has put them on an antidepressant or other medications, masking the symptoms. Just because you haven’t been diagnosed with hypothyroidism, doesn’t mean that you couldn’t benefit from thyroid optimization, as it often can resolve your non-specific symptoms! Plus, studies have shown that optimal thyroid levels can prevent a plethora of chronic diseases.
Vitamins and Supplements Many patients prefer natural and holistic health care interventions and are interested in learning more about supplements and vitamins. Just because something is “natural,” doesn’t always mean it is safe, without side effects, or won’t interact with other medications. Don’t just take advice from the person behind the counter at a supplement store! Trust a licensed provider, who understands the medical implications of these alternative treatment options. Evidence-based combinations of herbs, vitamins and minerals can be used to help restore physiologic function. These combinations are formulated to support proper functioning of organ systems that are out of balance or are stressed at the given time. Diet comes first, yet due in part to modern agricultural practices, it can be difficult for even the most nutritionally conscious to get all the nutrients we need through diet alone. The recommended dietary allowances (RDA) do no take individual differences into account. Individual needs may vary, given genetic susceptibility, lifestyle factors and environmental exposures.
Nutritional Support Food is medicine! Maintaining optimal nutrition is key for reversing disease processes and disease prevention. We analyze a patient's diet to promote nourishment of the whole body. We also work to discover hidden food sensitivities that might be compromising health manifesting, as low-grade symptoms. Foods can also be therapeutic and may be prescribed, alongside other treatments.
Women’s Health As a telehealth practice, we cannot fully replace your regular OB/GYN provider. However, we can work with you to address many of the changes women experience at various stages of their lives. Menopause is a normal phase in life but it may occur earlier in some women than in others. Some women begin experiencing changes and menopause-like symptoms (perimenopause) as early as their mid-30s. Gone are the days of women being ignored and told that symptoms are “all in their head.” Most women are familiar with symptoms of mood swings, hot flashes and night sweats. But did you know that symptoms can also include fatigue, brain fog, insomnia, muscle and joint pain, low libido, chills, depression, anxiety, memory loss, and even low bone density? No one treatment approach is right for everyone. The type and intensity of symptoms varies greatly from woman to woman and not every therapy is right for every woman. Treatments can include HRT, supplements, diet, and lifestyle practices. We will work with you to find the right treatment options for your unique symptoms and review the risks and benefits of each.
Alternative Therapies A holistic provider may use all forms of health care, from conventional medication to alternative therapies to treat a patient. For example, when a person suffers from migraine headaches, instead of walking out solely with medications, we will look at all the potential factors that may be causing the person's headaches, such as other health problems, diet and sleep habits, stress and personal problems. The treatment plan may involve pharmaceuticals to relieve symptoms but may also include diet and lifestyle modifications to help prevent the headaches from recurring. Some people choose to utilize other therapies, such as chiropractic care or acupuncture. Healing takes a team approach, and YOU are the team leader! Be assured that as a holistic provider, we are your partner on your health and wellness journey. We will work with you to find the combination of therapies best suited to your unique situation.
